Daniel Craig given license to thrill viewers for Red Nose Day
James Bond star set to appear in one-off sketch for Comic Relief
The world's favourite secret agent, James Bond, is set to star in a special one-off sketch on tonight’s Comic Relief – Face the Funny.
Daniel Craig will be joined by co-stars Ben Whishaw, Rory Kinnear, Naomie Harris, director Sam Mendes and producer Michael G. Wilson for the exclusive skit.
And Daniel isn’t the only 007 set to feature, as Sir Roger Moore will also be making a special guest appearance.
Sir Roger said: “I think viewers will most enjoy seeing that old Bonds never die.”
The mockumentary-style sketch, which promises to leave viewers shaken and stirred, was written by David Walliams and the Dawson Brothers. It will see Daniel and his fellow cast members and colleagues reveal the biggest Bond secret yet – a bombshell which is set to shock the world. Expect surprises, laughs, and some very special appearances, as viewers are finally told the truth about James Bond.
“I decided to take part in this sketch because the work Comic Relief undertakes, especially in West Africa, for people whose suffering is beyond our comprehension is truly exceptional,” said Sam Mendes. “Any help I can offer, even in the smallest of ways, is a privilege.”
“When I first saw the script, I was returning home from the set, and it really made me laugh out loud,” said Ben Wishaw. “I was thrilled to be asked to be involved.”
The sketch is set to be an unmissable part of tonight’s Red Nose Day evening of entertainment, Comic Relief – Face the Funny, broadcasting live from the London Palladium from 7pm on BBC One.
